Widely recognized as the leading exponent and one of the only remaining masters of the Lahore Baaj of the Punjab Gharana, he has dedicated his entire life to preserving, performing, and teaching this rare and endangered percussive tradition.

A Journey Rooted in Tradition and Mastery
Prof. Dhariwal’s musical odyssey began with foundational Tabla training under Baba Roop Shah, where he spent 5–6 formative years shaping his rhythmic understanding. This early grounding evolved into over two decades of intensive Tabla training under the illustrious Ustaad Lachhman Singh Seen, a distinguished maestro of the Punjab Gharana and direct disciple of the legendary Mian Qadir Bakhsh.
Inspired by his guru, Prof. Dhariwal embraced the challenging and ancient discipline of the Pakhawaj, training for 12–13 years under Ustaad Seen to master the Lahore Baaj a style known for its depth, purity, and rich historical significance.
